Vassie Pegues is a resident of Cleveland, MS. He is a graduate of Lafayette High School in Oxford, Mississippi  and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi.  His prior work history includes being employed as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal for Morris and Associates where his duties included maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive client information.

Since 1980, he has been employed as a Social Security Disability Representative working with prospective clients and claimants to prepare them for hearings and ensuring that they are knowledgeable about the process and regulations of claims. He also serves as Sunday School superintendent and Deacon of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
